The Room Services Manager serves as the department’s senior and primary representative for patient foodservice activities. These include providing direction and guidance for overall patient foodservice, ensuring conformance to food quality standards, assisting in the development of long range strategic plans, establishing the highest caliber standards of care, supervising the staff development of personnel in the patient services area, establishing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, and maintaining effective communications with other departmental managers and interdepartmental liaisons.



·         Manages maintenance and data entry for Computrition room service software

  • Runs the room service delivery program and ensures high customer satisfaction with services provided.
    • Supervises all room service staff.

o   Manages the fiscal aspects of the room service program

o   Serves as primary department representative for service recovery efforts

  • Selects and trains room services staff.
    • Provides opportunities for continuing education and other developmental experiences for foodservice staff.

·         Effectively communicates with nursing to ensure accuracy of diet orders and timely delivery of patient trays and nourishments



·         Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related field. Prefer Master’s Degree.

·         Prefer a minimum of 2-4 years hospital experience as a dietitian.

·         Prefer background in hospitality room service.

·         Minimum of 1-2 years supervisory experience required.





To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  The individual must be able to:

Ø  Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, speak and hear.  Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff.  The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits. 



 Supervises all room services staff.

The base pay for this position is $21.42.hr and is increased based upon applicable experience.
